Does My Hair Fall Out Because Of Psoriasis?

Doctors have found that Psoriasis is not the actual cause for losing your hair but you can lose it with Psoriasis because of scales that are really thick that become trapped with your hair and when you try to remove those scales it can cause your hair to fall out. There are medications and treatments to help prevent and reduce this plus also help heal damaged hair.

There are shampoos that you can use to help your hair. A couple of the shampoos are Ketoconazole and Coal tar. In most cases Coal tar is the one used because it is suitable for almost everyone. When you have a severe case of losing hair from Psoriasis you might have to use Sallicylic Acid cream or coal tar creams on your head. Dithranol is another thing that you can use but it is very messy.

In most cases you leave the shampoo or cream on your head for around 10 minutes and then you wash it out very good. Most recommend that you do this at least twice a week. If you are unhappy with the way the shampoo or lotion smells you can always get another one.
