How Is Inverse Psoriasis Treated?

Inverse Psoriasis can be cured by diverse treatments. But, there are chances that the disease may return after a few months or years. Here we have discussed a few treatments:

Drug Treatments: The treatment of inverse Psoriasis is challenging because, it is mainly common in the sensitive body parts. Elidel and Protopic are helpful in treatment of inverse psoriasis caused by skin sensitivity. Treatments using steroids like hydrocortisone can lead to skin thinning. However, medications when used under proper care of the dermatologist can be effective. Cyclosporin A is also an important remedy. Biological drugs like Efalizumab may be used for blockage of activation of T cells in the immune system. Infliximab (Remicade) is one of the injectable biological drugs that can help in treating inverse Psoriasis.
Light Treatment: Another effective treatment can be done using ultraviolet B light. In this treatment the patients have visit the doctor’s clinic and must stand in the light box with out any clothes. This light helps to block the expansion of psoriasis cells.

Topical Creams: Mild topical steroid creams help in treating mild form of inverse Psoriasis. However for moderate and severe ones, stronger topical creams will be needed. Apart from this vitamin D creams can be applied on skin.

Other Helpful Treatments at Home: Using moisturizers, glycerin based soaps, vitamin E supplements and cold presses on the inflamed area can give good amount of relief to the patient.
