What Happens When Psoriasis Is Not Under Control?

Psoriasis is a chronic and highly inflammatory skin disease which can affect a person of any age group. This is an extremely enduring disorder which tends to pass on from one generation to another. It is not a contagious disease, nor an outcome of an infection. In its severe stages, it can be a matter of utmost disgust, embarrassment and frustration for the sufferer. In the usual conditions, this disorder causes minor skin lesions with pink colored patches and red borders at few regions of the skin.  However, this disorder, when not checked on time, becomes uncontrollable and appears as cracked and intensely red colored patches spread throughout the body. The person also undergoes the development of highly painful blisters filled with puss at the genital areas. He starts witnessing the discoloration as well as the disfiguration of the toe nails and fingernails as they start growing thick and stark pink in color. The skin becomes extremely itchy and dry patches start appearing all over the body. People, at this uncontrolled stage of Psoriasis, often complain of acute of psoriasis arthritis as well.

At this stage it becomes difficult to manage the disease as the body does not react towards any treatment. He is then subjected to the optimum care and intensive monitoring in the hospital to gain control over the disease.
